***v2 version with revised battery port placement now fits all battery covers on the market (RetroSix, Funny playing, HISPEEDIDO, etc)***
This is a USB-C battery for the Gameboy Advance (GBA). robot_retro built this to address the main issue they found with alternative models... they get too hot.
Includes:
- robot_retro Power Board PCB for Game Boy Advance
- 3.7V 1700mAh Lithium Battery
Key Features:
- Full charge and play functionality. Perfectly safe to charge via USB-C while playing.
- Low power indicator. Triggers the GBA red light when there is 10-15min of play time remaining.
- Battery protection to prevent voltage dropping below 3.3v.
- Supports both USB-A/USB-C and USB-C/USB-C (power delivery) cables.
- Extremely low heat generated while charging due to the highly efficient switched regulator charging circuit. See photo showing the board is the same temperature as robot_retro's finger when charging.
- Compatible with all common IPS shells on the market. OEM shells will need to be trimmed to accommodate the battery.
- The USB-C port is designed to sit flush with the battery cover. Either drill a small hole in your existing battery cover or use one of the commonly available battery covers on the market.
- A fully modded console with IPS screen, amp and flash cart will yield around 9.5-10 hours battery life.
Install Instructions
Remove the GBA left hand side battery spring (optional) and place the battery in the bay. Place the battery in left side first then push down the right side so the springs are in contact with the GBA battery springs.
